Boo!

October 14th, 2008

At around 11am I was feeling so horrible I decided to go home from work. It started with my vision blurring for around an hour; then it went away. I thought I had just gotten pool water in my eyes or something, but when it went away it was replaced by headache, nausea and a slight fever (I think). So home I went, hid under my duvet while snoozing for a few hours; and at around 5pm I felt well enough to get up and move about. I do still have a slight headache, but I hope it doesn’t get worse.

I finished my Sensation-trousers this evening as well! Pics are here (and don’t mind the black bra; I’ll get a white one before Sensation! Also, don’t mind the sulky face – I hate cameras, and taking the pictures myself didn’t help):

Edit: Well, now less than an hour after this post, I am feeling poorly again. This fucking sucks.

Lacreative!

Since I have been having a few issues finding a pair of white trousers for Sensation, I decided that since I have my sewing machine back now, I could just sew a pair myself! So off I went to the fabric store to buy fabric and a zipper. I had an old pair of clubbing trousers I really liked, but they could hardly hold together anymore because they were so worn-out; and also they were too small for me now. So I cut them open and used them as a pattern; but I modified it a bit as I went. So I spent the night sewing, and I actually managed to get 75% done too! Only missing the waistband + zipper and then adjusting the bottom of the legs and then it should be done! Hoping to get it done tonight; might as well use my creative energy while it’s there.

Fair enough, some of the stitching is not perfect; the pockets even have extra rows of stitching, but since it’s all white, it’s not really visible anyway – and even if it is, I don’t care! Considering I haven’t been sewing for something like 10 years, and this is my first pair of trousers ever, I am bloody proud of myself!

Also, this morning I swam 850m. It was 50m more than I planned for, but I felt like I might as well. I also crawled (with arms!) for 20-ish meters just to see if I could still remember how to do it; and while it’s a new challenge to get my breathing pattern for it correct, it didn’t feel totally wrong – though I know I will swallow water quite a few times before I get it worked out. Also, this week I am increasing my distance a total of 100m instead of the usual 50m; but that’s because 850m is a bitch to divide into even lengths (I usually do 2-3 1min breaks in my swimming to catch my breath); 900m is way easier to split up.

One last thing – I am starting to lose weight again, after 2 weeks of standing still weight-wise. Scale showed the lowest number in about a year this morning – which means I have lost a bit over 7kg so far – with 6kg to go for my eventual target. Go me!

You’ve Heard It Before…

September 8th, 2008

… yes, I know I have promised to blog more… But uhm, that doesn’t seem to be happening, sorry. Anyway, this is an update!

Today I drew something for the first time in a few years… Definitely came out better than I might have feared, but I also definitely need to buy both a pencil sharpener and some erasers, as I have neither, hehe. Anyway, this is what I drew (and sorry for the weird quality and large image size – the picture of the drawing is taken with my webcam and all I have installed right now is MS Paint, which sucks donkeys’ ballsĀ  at converting stuff…):

Now only time will tell if I can keep up trying to be creative now and again, as I sort of miss it… I just hate getting disappointed when I can’t get stuff to come out the way I want it to.. heh
